SHOWGIRLS 2: PENNY'S FROM HEAVEN - WORLD PREMIERE!

Sixteen years after Paul Verhoeven unleashed his famous – and infamous – SHOWGIRLS onto the world, actress Rena Riffel takes us back to the scandalous world of Las Vegas to answer the question: Whatever happened to Penny?

In Showgirls, Riffel played Penny, a sweet and naive dancer who worked at the Cheetah. Re-dubbed “Hope” by the club’s promoter, Penny/Hope is last seen pregnant and engaged to choreographer James Smith. In SHOWGIRLS 2: PENNY'S FROM HEAVEN, Riffel not only reprises her role - as does actor Glenn Plummer, who returns as James – but she also has written and directed the film, a labor of love that she has tirelessly self-produced!

We are so extremely excited that Rena has invited the Long Beach Cinematheque to premiere her new film! We are thrilled to welcome Rena back to Long Beach after her appearance at our Showgirls screening last year – she will be in attendance (as will several cast and crew members), and will be taking questions from the audience after the show!
